Welcome Back to School!

We have had quite a blustery start to our new year! I hope your family had a safe and fun holiday season!

If you are curious how our breaks went, log-in to our KidBlog account and read our posts and comments!! Feel free to leave comments to our students, they will respond!

Next week we will begin our MAPS and DIBELS testing (and hopefully finish!) As a reminder, our MAPS test is a computer based reading test, which is leveled to your child. It will give me information on the progress made since September. DIBELS are the 1-minute timed “mini-tests” that give me information on your child’s segmenting, blending, reading accuracy, etc. I will share the results with these assessments with you during PT Conferences in February. Please be sure that your children get plenty of sleep and are fed a healthy breakfast next week!

We will be culminating our Lead 21 studies of “In my Neighborhood” next week!

We began a new unit of study in math. We will continue studying fact power, telling time, and counting money. We have begun discussing place value and playing games where we use “2 digit numbers!”

This week we began our 5^th “special.” On Wednesdays, students will now have a 2^nd P.E.  class with Mrs. Larson. This month, she will be working with students in the wrestling room! They are excited to have 2 P.E. classes per week!
