Another Busy Week!
In math, we have been introduced to the penny and the nickel. We have compared/contrasted these two coins as well as practiced counting money and trading money!

In reading, we are finishing our 4th week of the Lead 21 Theme: Friends and Family. Next week we will begin “inquiry projects.” This is a way that we will culminate our studies of “how friends and family are connected to us.” Look for more information regarding these projects to come home!

In addition to our Lead 21 unit, we have also incorporated one of our social studies themes into studying “families and neighbors.” It has been fun to discuss activities that we do with our families, but also traditions that children of other cultures participate in!

Thank you to parents, grandparents, and older siblings who have been working so hard with our 1B students. Lots of math, reading, and writing homework have been coming home over the past month! You are doing a great job of staying active in your child’s education!
·      Continue filling in one pumpkin each night that you read a book! Return your Book-It calendar at the end of the month for a Pizza Hut certificate!
